Energy conversion law
The Energy Transition Law Group focuses on legal issues relating to the energy transition. Although many approaches to transforming the energy system are technically feasible, economic implementation is often made difficult or even impossible by the legal framework. Against this backdrop, the aim of the Energy Transition Law Group is to examine the existing legal framework for the transformation of the energy system, identify legal obstacles and develop proposals for the further development of the legal framework.
The Energy Users' Rights Group deals with legal issues, among other things:
- the expansion of energy generation from renewable energy sources (subsidy law & planning law),
- sector coupling,
- energy storage,
- the system integration of renewable energy sources,
- the heat transition,
- the transport transition (e.g. hydrogen and electromobility),
- energy savings,
- the digitalization of the energy transition (regulatory law, metering and calibration law, data protection law)
- innovative energy supply and marketing concepts as well as
- the legal framework under European and international law for the transformation of the energy system.
