Grid integration

Project description

The transformation of the energy system is characterized by the increasing use of decentralized generation plants from renewables and their highly fluctuating power feed into the public electrical grid. This transformation process places particularly high demands on demand-oriented grid planning, design, construction and reliable operation of the grid.

The project is funded by the Gesellschaft für Energie und Klimaschutz Schleswig-Holstein GmbH.

Project goals

The aim of the project is to analyze the grid situations in Schleswig-Holstein's high-voltage grid after a large-scale rollout of load monitoring to assess the effects on grid stability with a corresponding risk assessment. Critical grid constellations must be identified, suitably described, systematized and investigated. Suitable measures and possible solutions for avoiding the risks assessed as significant are to be designed and their effectiveness demonstrated with the aid of simulation. The project should show to what extent the solutions can be transferred to other voltage levels, other grid sections and other grid operators in Schleswig-Holstein.
