Project description

The National Hydrogen Strategy relies on green hydrogen to achieve the climate targets. This energy carrier can make a major contribution to decarbonization due to its potential uses in various sectors.
Well-trained skilled workers are of fundamental importance for the hydrogen economy to develop quickly and profitably (BMWi, 2020). At present, however, there is still great uncertainty about the actual demand for skilled workers in the hydrogen economy and how this can be met by the labor market. This project therefore focuses on the development of skilled workers for the hydrogen economy: The aim of the project is to research which skilled workers with which skills are needed when and where, and how they can be recruited or trained. In order to achieve this goal, we are applying a mix of social science and engineering methods in a total of four consecutive studies.
